The collection is available in 7 different colour options, each of which is in turn available in warmer or cooler shades, hand-painted on a 20×40 cm single-fired base. The Egeo finish proposed in 7 chromatic versions brings the sea into every environment; in the same way as the sea is always the same but never identical the tiles of the Egeo collection are hand-decorated one by one in the Gabbianelli Laboratory. Gabbianelli new tile collections- Note di colore, TRACCIA.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

Gabbianelli new tile collections- Note di colore, TRACCIA.

Gabbianelli has been making ceramic tiles for over 60 years, creating products whose superlative originality and style have made them a success all over the world. It all started in a simple atelier where architects and designers came together with the founder of the company to try out their ideas and designs on a ceramic medium. These were the years the building boom reached its peak: the main thing was to build fast and to build a lot. Gabbianelli had the intuition that there was not just the question of production volume, there was also the product’s aesthetics to consider, paving the way for a manufacturing method that would become widespread throughout the industry in the decades to come. The factory’s location at Milan and its close contacts with the growing design “industry” were unquestionably decisive factors in Gabbianelli’s recipe for success: how to take tiles from being a mere wall covering known for its simplicity and practicality, to a product used by interior designers. This is how ceramic tiles became a surface used in designer projects. The traditional decorative patterns of the old style of ceramics were abandoned in favour of original and contemporary designs, interpreting the new concept of the home. These experiences led to products that have become outand- out international success stories and have contributed to the history of design in ceramics: “Serie Elementare” (1968), “Traccia” (1979: the first three-dimensional pattern), the elegant reworking of florals by Carolyn Quartermaine with her “Roses” and “Stanza dei fiori” (2001/02), and coloured textures created by using various techniques of application and which are still a distinctive element featuring in the company’s catalogue today. Today, the scope of the company still stretches from industrial manufacturing with the production of its range of plain colours, to hand-crafted work in the laboratory, where the skills of artists and experts are combined to make unique pieces or series of elegant decorations. After becoming part of Altaeco group, Gabbianelli can now count on a modern industrial system using the latest technology, safeguarding the same supreme levels of quality of its products. The company has worked with many designers over the years, including:

Ezio Didone “Zig Zag” – Raul Dufy “Willow” – Annabelle d’Huart “Wien”, “Ring”, “Quadrat” – Sergio Calatroni “Wave”, “Village”, “Piedigrotta” – “Lapis”, “Intuizione” – Renato Toso “Vibration”, “Messico” – Bruno Munari “Tuttotondo Tuttoquadro” – Enzo Mari “Serie Elementare”, “Traccia”, “Trama e Colonna” – Italo Lupi “Stellina” – De Pas D’Urbino “Segni” – David Palterer “Punto” – Maria Belgioioso “Bolli e quadri” – Pace Gritti Morlacchi “Grandecoro bosco” – Alfonso Pizzo Greco “Ameba” – Sergio Asti “Farfalla” – Anna Maglienti “Dama”, “Armonia” - Tullio Pericoli “Block notes”, “Espresso”, “Fantasia” – Julia Binfield “Vasi e Fiori”, “Caffelatte” – “Le città del mondo” – Carolyn Quartermaine “Roses”, “Stanza dei fiori” – Mario Piazza XY “Astratto” – Wouter Dolk “Cornici” – Piero Crida “Hibiscus”

Note di colore 20×60

A collection of tiles in 14 different plain colours in the new size 20×60 cm, adding to Gabbianelli’s wide product range Note di Colore. The distinctive features of the product are: the special glazing process and the shiny drip effect crystalline surface, which enhances the brilliance and depth of colour. The new rectangular size 20×60 cm, refined and elegant, further enhances the exciting effect of the material and the purity of its shapes. A matching listel tile measuring 7,5×60 cm is also available.

 TRACCIA

“…the ten-year collaboration with Enzo Mari marked some essential stages in the development of the production of Gabbianelli…” This is what our catalogue stated a few years ago, and to confirm the respect and passion of Gabbianelli for the work of Enzo Mari, we now proudly present the revised version of TRACCIA, in the size 13×26 cm in 13 different glossy colours plus one with a satin finish. With its rigid markings, achieved thanks to the use of a structured support, and its three-dimensional form, TRACCIA creates a modern, dynamic light and shade effect.

Energy and Night, the new generation of Corten series model- TAU Ceramica.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

Energy and Night, the new generation of Corten series model- TAU Ceramica.

tileTAU stands for the forefront and innovation in design. The company, for Cersaie 2009, has reserved a significant space at its stand for Corten Energy and Corten Night, the new generation of models of the Corten series, one of the most acknowledged proposals worldwide and that which best identifies the work of the brand.

Corten Energy and Corten Night are two dynamic, forceful proposals for porcelain stoneware, which maintain the spirit of the Corten series, from the TAU Metálica collection, which takes on a new aesthetic form thanks to its inspiration by metals in their purest state. Unsurprisingly, as the Corten series is considered one of the most avant garde architectural and interior solutions which has generated the greatest repercussion since it was launched, thanks to its innovative aesthetic concept and exclusiveness, within the uppermost segment of the market worldwide.

Now, Corten Energy and Corten Night have been developed using new manufacturing techniques which can polish the material to lend it a special personality, with a fire-like appearance, while creating a highly particular iridescent effect which is one of its hallmarks. Both models are available in 45×45, 45×90, 60×60 and 30×60 formats, and in two finishes: natural and polished.

tileCorten Night adheres to the canons of the TAU ecotile range, i.e. over 45% of the tiles’ composition uses recycled materials as part of the company’s commitment to conserve and respect the environment, one of the company’s major pledges.

The catalogue of new items which TAU is to present at Cersaie 2009 also includes such interesting products as Mythos, a porcelain stoneware which imitates the purity of classic pentelic marble, in order to capture and materialise the essence of nature in ceramics.

Refined, elegant, pure, reserved but always beautiful, Mythos is available in two versions, polished and natural, which lend it an incredible resemblance to the model on which it is inspired. Mythos is available in 25×36, 45×45, 45×90 and 60×60 formats and five chromatic tones.

Also noteworthy is that TAU has designed Corten Energy and Mythos in the TAUfine version, the new ultrafine and light porcelain which reduces the thickness by over 50% compared to the traditional models, bringing it down to 5 mm. This is an innovative proposal, ideal for rehabilitation and architecture. TAUfine is a commitment to ecology, cost saving in materials and at the forefront of construction, in line with the R&D&I which TAU has used since its beginnings and which have made it a worldwide benchmark.

TAU, coinciding with Cersaie, is also launching a new format, the 20×60, a new proposal to meet one of the new demands in the marketplace, always seeking out larger formats.

There are several models, such as Fiber and Point, two casual and highly dynamic proposals, which are highly colourful and use geometric patterns, and Arun and the TAU Luminia collection, which includes the Alenda-Beires and Massa-Samaná series, more classical, reserved and refined.

The new features of TAU for this season are supplemented with Dessau (45×45 and 60×60), a lapping pavement for top quality atmospheres; Gravel, a new model inspired on microcements measuring 60×60 and 80×80, and five finishes, both for interiors and exteriors, and Hammam, a polished porcelain which reproduces all the ambience of ancient Turkish baths, thanks to its aged appearance which is available in three colours (gold, beige and black) and four formats (15×60, 20×60, 30×60 and 60×60).

Lastly, the catalogue of TAU’s new products contains Hebra, a proposal halfway between the bold and classic line which reflects the threads of fabrics, but from an avant garde, innovative stance. Hebra has three decorations, Japan, Llovizna and Orvallo, whose finishes resemble raindrops in glass, offering a fresh, relaxing effect.

TAU launches the new format tiles 20 x 60 for covering proposals- TAU Ceramica.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

TAU launches the new format tiles 20 x 60 for covering proposals- TAU Ceramica.

TAU grows and evolves. The brand is currently launching new proposals in the innovative 20×60 format, a surprising, casual and versatile format which meets one of the present demands of consumers. It arrives with a wide ranging catalogue of proposals which includes all types of designs, finishes and effects, with the aim of covering the entire spectrum of needs for professionals and clients.
tile
The collections are grouped into two movements, one very casual and young, and another, more classical and elegant, although both stand out for their sophistication and careful finish down to the tiniest detail. In the first group we find Fiber and Point, while the second style includes Arun and the TAU Luminia collection with the series Alenda-Beires and Massa-Samaná.

tile

Fiber is dynamic, fresh and bold. Its red, wenge, blue, while and black colours make for a thousand and one combinations, all characterised by gentle, new flashes of gloss, which make it highly original. Its soft texture should also be taken into account. The whole represents a full and well-crafted harmony.

Point is a single colour proposal which stands out for the circles which form the model. Personal, lively and always changing, thanks to its numerous decorations and infinite combinations, Point is specially designed for those who wish to project their personality onto the rooms, interact with the space to make it unique and exclusive, in the form of mosaics or panels.
tile
Point is minimalist, highly architectural and structural, and rabidly modern. Its finishes in black, grey, brown, beige and white produces an absolutely innovative result, an effect boosted by the decorations given to this model, whose circles break up the geometric interplay of the bases, largely as a result of the orange, blue, grey, pistachio and brown tones in its design. It also has mosaics in metallic, blue, green, orange and mother-of-pearl finishes in one of the most complete and personal ranges of TAU for the new season. Point perfectly combines with the wide range of single colour proposals of the Colore pavement.
tiletile
Standing at the opposite end of this aesthetic line is the TAU Luminia collection, comprising the Alenda-Beires and Massa-Samaná models and Arun, three ideas which emphasise sobriety, sophistication and exclusiveness.

tile

TAU Luminia is inspired by the classic marbles which has had a successful reception in the market and continues to grow with new creations. With a perfect finish and true to the original material which inspires them, Alenda-Beires and Massa-Samaná are two baroque decorative proposals for deluxe, refined, sophisticated ambiences… Designed for the most exclusive international markets, Alenda-Beires perfectly reproduces the splendour of emperor marble, one of the most noble and ancient materials in history. Massa-Samaná is directly inspired on portoro marble.

Lastly, Arun is a model resembling the winding waves of the desert. Inspired on the stone used to build some of the most striking Thai temples, Arun transmits warmth and relaxation. This model makes maximum use of the advantages of digital decoration, multiplying the end result.

TAUfine, the finest and lightest large format porcelain in the market-TAU Ceramica.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

TAUfine, the finest and lightest large format porcelain in the market-TAU Ceramica.

tileTAU presents TAUfine at the Cersaie 2009, the new large format, ultrafine concept in porcelain which is designed to revolutionise architecture and refurbishment thanks to its numerous, innovative advantages.

TAUfine is a milestone in the brand’s product catalogue, as it reduces the tile thickness by over 50%, with tiles with a minimum thickness of 5 mm.

The development of TAUfine again demonstrates TAU’s ability to create the most advanced ceramic products in the market, as a result of the work of a large team of professionals using the latest technology, a situation acknowledged on numerous occasions by organisations of experts and scientists, and which has led to multiple ceramic solutions patented exclusively by TAU.

For TAUfine, the company is launching at Cersaie in a special space, the product in two formats: the 30×60 and especially the 45×90, a large size tile revealing TAU’s technical mastery of ceramic materials, given the added difficulty of production involved in manufacturing an extremely fine product without impairing its technical or aesthetic properties. TAU also undertakes the product launch without any decorative limitations.

TAUfine is specially designed to be applied to walls, and is particularly suited to refurbishment projects, while at the same time offering excellent results in new architectural initiatives such as exteriors, facades, residential complexes or even shopping centres.

It has numerous advantages and added value. When applied, it is not necessary to remove the already existing material as its can be applied directly over the previous product, thanks to its extreme fineness.

tile

Thus, TAUfine represents a major cost saving during the execution phase, a significant factor for domestic economies in crises such as the present one. TAUfine also reduces the use of raw materials in its manufacture, energy consumption and the generation of CO2 in the firing process, which helps to protect the environment, and also in logistic costs, as the weight of the pallets is approximately half that of the traditional pallet.

TAU, which has TAUfine in full production, aware of its capacity and the potential of the collection in the market, once its benefits and results have been fully acknowledged, uses the concept in some of the more famous models in its catalogue, such as Corten and Portland, and other new products such as Mythos, in addition to Corten Energy. In the latter, the challenge is far greater as it is a polished model, fresh evidence of TAU’s mastery in the application of new technologies.

As is evident, TAUfine multiplies consumers’ options, who find in TAU a world of potential and an ally when creating a more comfortable living space and avant garde solutions in the field of architecture and interior design.

Maurizio Favetta presented his project for the "Riyadh Gallery Hotel"-Ceramica Fioranese.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

Maurizio Favetta presented his project for the “Riyadh Gallery Hotel”-Ceramica Fioranese.
Maurizio Favetta presented his project for the “Riyadh Gallery Hotel”, representing the aesthetic and formal mood of a new commission for the hospitality industry in the Saudi capital of Riyadh that the Milanese architect is currently designing, as part of the “Linking People” event held during the “Abitare il Tempo 2009” international interior design exhibition at Verona. The installation at Verona revisits and reinterprets traditional Arab codes in a snapshot of the local culture that is a long way from traditional stereotypes.
A fresh, dynamic look capable of standing the pace of the huge, ongoing changes in Saudi Arabia, which is currently enjoying a period of continuous albeit measured growth. An architectural idea, a natural bridge linking the past, present and future.
The project for Linking People reproduces the mood of this new hotel. The starting point for the design is a flower pattern, the symbol of the Riyadh Gallery that was the inspiration for the installation. Every detail, material and decoration in the 100 m² exhibition space is the outcome of experimentation involving many leading companies in the international market.

Nu_Travertine-authentic look of stone that has just left the quarry by Ceramica Fioranese.

Posted on Monday, September 19th, 2011

Nu_Travertine-authentic look of stone that has just left the quarry by Ceramica Fioranese.
Ceramica Fioranese has been steadily developing its know how in digital technology since 2002, and its expertise is acknowledged by those in the industry. Nu_Travertine – the latest addition to the family, is the outcome of this ongoing process of evolution in design – and was immediately judged as being a genuinely beautiful stone, with the authentic look of stone that has just left the quarry.
The intention of the patent is to record the twenty one faces of our Nu_Travertine, both on the flat and in 3D, making this a truly unique design developed and manufactured with digital pigment technology.
But that’s not all: Nu_Travertine is certified for having over 42.5% content of recycled materials meeting the requirements of environmental compatibility stipulated in the strictest standards. Once again, Ceramica Fioranese products see beauty and ecology going hand in hand; the design patent for Nu_Travertine is the official seal of recognition of the efforts of our research.
